39 days in, out of 99

Update 2 [Friday, 1/19 3pm] : we just got moved from the ER to a room (I have never seen the ED so busy - we arrived at 1am last night!). Jon's fever and heart-rate are still pretty elevated, but responding to Tylenol, so we're continuing the full course of antibiotics until the fever stays down on it's own, when we'll start to wean off antibiotics. We're finishing out other tests to make sure there's nothing else going on, but the tech said at least preliminarily, it looked normal... It looks like it will probably be a few days here - once the fever breaks, we have to go 24 hours afebrile before they will switch him over to an oral antibiotic and send us home, assuming his heart-rate looks normal again.

Jon's in good spirits, especially when the Tylenol kicks in, and celebrating that this room has a 42" tv (although no remote!) as compared to the 20" in the last room. He's just hoping that discharge happens either before or after 3pm on Sunday - Go Pats.

I'm running between house and hospital on not much sleep, but as so many times before, we have had incredible friends and family step up to carry us in our times of need. Thanks to all for all the ways you've loved us so well.

Today is day 99 since we started our first round of chemo - 121 since we first learned of the tumor. Of those 99, today makes 39 that we have spent in the hospital - not counting blood draws, biopsies, or outpatient procedures. We're very much looking forward to the day when we get to stay home together for weeks on end, with no visits to the hospital!
